1. Manchester City 2 vs Napoli 1
Pep Guardiola had warned that Napoli were one of the best three sides in Europe right now and they showed exactly what he meant as they pushed Manchester City far harder than any Premier League team has done so this season even if they were ultimately defeated.
It is three wins from three ties for City in the Champions League so far in this campaign, taking a grip on Group F at the midway stage, but as breath-taking as their football was for the first-half of this encounter they were left breathless as Maurizio Sarri’s side rallied brilliantly. ‘Sarri-ball’ turned City into ‘harry-after-the-ball’, at times, which is not something we have seen under Guardiola.
Napoli scored one penalty but missed another with the imperious John Stones also blocking a goal-bound shot while City will point to a host of opportunities in a thrilling, high-quality tie.

2. Real Madrid 1 vs Tottenham 1
Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty cancelled out a Raphael Varane own goal as Real Madrid and Tottenham played out a 1-1 draw.
Tottenham held Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu in an enthralling encounter between the top two of Champions League Group H.
Both these teams had won their opening two group games and suitably delivered a match of high quality on Tuesday, in which both goalkeepers were forced into some stunning saves to keep the scores level.
The result means the teams are level on seven points and identical goal difference ahead of the return fixture at Wembley on November 1.

3. Liverpool vs Maribor 7 – 0
Liverpool breezed to their first Champions League Group E win of the season as they blasted past Maribor 7-0.
The Slovenia side were no match for Jurgen Klopp’s men as the Premier League visitors were three goals to the good within 19 minutes.
Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah all struck within the opening 20 minutes, while the latter added his second of the evening six minutes before the interval.
Klopp’s Brazilian duo were not finished there though, as Coutinho set up Firmino to head home the fifth shortly after the break.
There was enough time left for former Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to score his first goal for Liverpool, and Trent Alexander Arnold to net a heavily deflected seventh at the death.
