Hard fighting Burnley frustrates Premier League leaders Chelsea to draw

Premier League leaders Chelsea on Sunday, February 12, 2017 failed to go 12 points clearat the top of the standings after being forced to a 1 - 1 draw by Burnley in a tough duel at the Turf Moor.



However, the hosts would have their goalkeeper Tom Heaton to thank as his numerous saves denied the Blues from getting the three maximum points.

Chelsea started the game impressivly knowing fully well that a victory would be of great help to their title ambition, and Pedro Rodriguez opened scoring when he fired in a cross from Costa in the 7th minute.

The hosts restored parity in the 27th minute from a sublime strike from a freekick by Robert Brandy where Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois had no chance.

Eden Hazard would have put the Blues aheadprior to the end of the first half, but he blew up the chance as he struck wide.

In the second half, the hosts looked more promising in search for the winner, but somehow fluffed the chances that came theirway.It ended; Burnley 1 - 1 Chelsea.

Antonio Conte's men are now on 60 points from 25 games, 10 points ahead of Tottenham and Arsenal. Manchester City whoare on 49 points have a chance to move to second position if they defeat Bournemouth on Monday, February 13.

Chelsea host Swansea at the Stamford Bridgein their next game on February 25.
