UEFA president, Aleksander Ceferin, is ready to boot Paris Saint-Germain out of the Champions League.
French newspaper, L’Equipe, claims the Ceferin wants to become as popular as former UEFA boss, Michel Platini, by taking a radical decision.
“If I want to attain the same popularity achieved by Michel (Platini), I know I need to exclude PSG from participating in UEFA organised competitions,” he is quoted as saying.
Ceferin reportedly made this claim at last week’s European Club Association meeting.
PSG are under investigation after spending £198million on Neymar this summer.
The Ligue 1 giants also signed Kylian Mbappe on loan from Monaco and will pay £166m to make the deal permanent next year.
UEFA are considering whether the club have breached their Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.
