President Muhammadu Buhari has on Friday, December 2, approved the appointment of two Supreme Court judges Sidi Bage and Paul Gilinje.
Premium Times reports that the two new justices are expected to be sworn in on Monday, December 5 by the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Onnoghen.
The approval of the appointments was confirmed in a statement signed by the Acting Director of Information of the National Judicial Council (NJC) Soji Oye and made available to the media on Friday.
“President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the appointment of Honourable Justice Sidi Dauda Bage, and Honourable Justice Paul Adamu Galinje, as Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council.
“The two Honourable Justices will be sworn-in by the Acting Honourable Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman of the National Judicial Council, Hon. Justice W. S. N. Onnoghen, CFR, on Monday 5th December, 2016 at 2.00 pm in the Supreme Court of Nigeria,” the statement said.
