Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has expressed delight at the progress of work at the permanent site of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC under construction and pledged the Senate’s support towards its early completion.He made the pledge on Tuesday,
December 6, 2016 while being conducted round the edifice by Ibrahim Magu, acting Chairman of the Commission.
While expressing optimism that the building when completed will be put to good use, Ekweremadu called on all Nigerians to key in to anti-corruption crusade of the present government in order to have a new Nigeria of our dream. The deputy senate president was accompanied on the visit by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, Chukwuka Utazi.
“I am very impressed with this edifice, it is befitting of not just the EFCC, but our country Nigeria. Nigeria is the biggest country in Africa and all of our friends and brothers in Africa look up to Nigeria for infrastructural facilities as they will want us to lead in infrastructure and copy from us.
“I am indeed very proud that we are putting up this project for our anti-corruption agency and I do hope that this will not only serve as a centre of excellence, but also be a place that will help Nigeria get out of the corruption index”, Ekweremadu said.
